Lighthouse De Ven

Lighthouse De Ven is a white square brick lighthouse an the IJsselmeerdijk in the village of Oosterdijk, only four kilometers away from Enkhuizen. The tower was built in 1699-1700 and is one of the oldest lighthouses in the Netherlands. The tower has a height of 15 meters and the light height is 17 meters. Above the entrance is a cartouche with the names of the founders. In clear weather the lighthouse is clearly visible from the Enkhuizen-Lelystad dike. The tower is one of the three light uplights designed to indicate the route from the Wadden Sea to Amsterdam.
