Vaartocht naar Medemblik
The Friesland takes you across the IJsselmeer from Enkhuizen to Medemblik, or vice versa. It is a monumental museum ship from 1956. Until the mid-1980s, the Friesland sailed back and forth between Harlingen and Terschelling as a ferry. Since 2002, the Friesland has been sailing for the Museum Steam Tram between Enkhuizen and Medemblik.
History
The boat trip across the IJsselmeer takes about an hour and a quarter. On the upper and lower decks, you can enjoy the sun, wind, and beautiful views in good weather. But it is also lovely to spend time inside in the luxurious salon with a bar. If you sail from Medemblik to Enkhuizen, the boat makes a stop at the Zuiderzee Museum, where you can learn all about the history of the IJsselmeer region.
Home port
The home port of the Friesland is in Enkhuizen. It is moored at the jetty in the Veerhaven, approximately 100 meters from the NS station. The boat departs from Enkhuizen at 10:40 AM; from Medemblik at 1:20 PM ( see timetable on the website). Will you be sailing along?
