When ambitious TV meteorologist Margaret (Emily Blunt) unexpectedly begins speaking strange, inexplicable languages, her planned career is abruptly halted. While many suspect a medical emergency, her mysterious behavior attracts the attention of malevolent and secret agencies that immediately begin hunting her down. At the same time, driven scientist Dr. Kellner (Josh O’Connor) is on the run from the exact same dark figures, including the ruthless Noah (Colin Firth), during his dangerous mission to reveal a world-shattering alien truth to humanity. Together, Margaret and Dr. Kellner attempt to survive in a web of espionage and conspiracies to make the truth public once and for all.

The film is based on a story by Spielberg and the screenplay is by David Koepp, who previously collaborated with Spielberg on the scripts for Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
