Spreekwoordenroute Enkhuizen voor volwassenen
How well do you know your proverbs? During this special city walk, you will discover Enkhuizen through language, history, and surprising details that you might normally walk right past.
With the route booklet in hand, you walk through the historic city center. You pass well-known places such as the Drommedaris, the Waag, and the Town Hall, but also less conspicuous spots with a special story. Think of old water gates, gable stones, and details that refer to the rich history of Enkhuizen.
Along the way, you solve tasks, collect numbers, and discover where famous proverbs and expressions come from. For example, you will learn more about ‘paying with hard cash’ and, of course, about ‘curious Aagje’, an expression closely linked to Enkhuizen.
How long does the route take?
The route is approximately 6 kilometers long and takes about 2 hours. You walk at your own pace, so there is plenty of opportunity to stop along the way for coffee, lunch, or simply to look around a bit longer.
A fun way to rediscover Enkhuizen — even if you think you already know the city well.
