Mama Shakers

Mama Shakers are five young musicians who cover popular American music from the twenties and thirties with equal respect and energy. They are called ‘The Young Savages from Paris’. Every word of this applies. Although with the small caveat that front woman, trumpeter and Swedish Angela Strandberg should be considered an import in the City of Love. This temperamental Swedish woman formed the Mama Shakers in the City of Light with four band members and provided the music of the Roaring Twenties with a youthful zest. They draw inspiration from and pay tribute to the forgotten music of the cotton fields, Louisiana’s most dubious bars and Tennessee’s most remote towns. Between jug band orchestras and New Orleans music, that ignites a crackling swing through to blues. The Mama Shakers take everyone on a musical journey through time!
