Exhibition “Water in the Bible”

Water in the Bible is the theme of the versatile art exhibition that can be seen in the Zuiderkerk from June 2 to September 8.

Water is one of the most powerful religious symbols due to its triple meaning. Water washes clean, gives life and kills. It is therefore no wonder that water appears frequently in the Bible. A selection from the Old Testament: creation, Moses in the bulrushes basket, the water from the rock, Jonah in the whale. In the New Testament we read about the miraculous catch of fish, the storm on the lake, the turning of water into wine and the washing of feet. The Psalms and Proverbs also refer to water.

This rich source of inspiration has led to about 15 surprising and inspired works.

The Zuiderkerk is open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from July 7 on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
