The Secret Society of 21 mills
As part of the Theme Year Ode to the Landscape, 21 mills in North Holland and 1 in Utrecht will unite. They form a secret society. With their whispers, starting May 8, they will tell us stories from the past, to inspire us to shape the North Holland landscape of the future. Listen to the windmills. They show us the way. The Vogelhoeksmolen in the Zuiderzee Museum is participating in the secret society!
Marker Wadden
Board sailing ship the Schuttevaer and sail along to the Marker Wadden, a natural paradise for fish and birds and a delightful recreational island. Take a walk around the developing islands and watch the various birds.
Cycling along the Westfriese Omringdijk
This bicycle route goes along the Westfriese Omringdijk; a miracle of human hand. The West Frisian landscape takes you past polders, windmills, VOC towns and cheese-cover farmhouses, cultural surprises and delicious local produce.
