3x Extraordinary overnight stays in and around Enkhuizen

Would you like to make your overnight stay in Enkhuizen just a little more special and are you looking for a special experience? Here are 3 unique tips.

Dreaming on the water

When you are in Enkhuizen, of course you cannot avoid the water. So here you can enjoy the IJsselmeer, but also the Markermeer and of course the harbor. And what could be nicer than also sleeping on the water? You can do so in these three boats:

1. Tjalk yacht Pelikaan in Enkhuizen

www.tjalkjachtpelikaan.com

Tjalkjacht de Pelikaan is located in the harbor of Enkhuizen, within walking distance of the historic
town center. This special tjalk yacht was built in 1904 as a sailing freighter. Captain Lucas is happy to tell you about its history and also give you great tips for restaurants and outings in the area. You can choose between just spending the night here (the boat then stays in the harbor) or going on a several-day sailing trip.

2. Wind Bride

The Windbruid is a traditional sailing ship where you can stay overnight during the winter months. You will find the ship in the Buitenhaven of Enkhuizen. The Windbruid has an authentic appearance, but inside it is equipped with all modern conveniences.

3. Deo Annuente in Enkhuizen

Deo Annuente is a former fishing ship and is located in the harbor of Enkhuizen. You can stay here with
6 people. The boat has two bedrooms and you have to be a bit
to get into bed: but that’s part of being on a ship. The ship
is in the harbor, but skipper Jan will gladly take you on a cruise on the IJsselmeer.

4. Never volmaeckt

Come aboard two-masted clipper Nooit volmaeckt for a fantastic sailing trip. Discover the characteristic atmosphere of the IJsselmeer with its friendly harbor towns. Or sail north; the Wadden Sea with its varied islands.

Romantic cottage by the pond

Enkhuizen’s historic town center is like a museum: all around you see monumental buildings. In some of these historic buildings you can also stay overnight, I listed three for you:

5. Villa Enkhuizen

A beautiful monumental city villa in Enkhuizen houses B&B Villa Enkhuizen. This villa was built in 1897 as an overseer’s house of the tenements in the Snouk van Loosenpark. Since 2015 it has been a B&B with five rooms. All rooms have a unique atmosphere and a private
bathroom. Owner Ingrid is happy to serve you!

Camping by the campfire

Do you not necessarily need to stay in the center of Enkhuizen and do you like a bit of nature? Then the following three tips are top for you:

6. De Gouwe Stek

Near Enkhuizen, opposite swimming pool the Streekbos, is Camping de Gouwe Stek. At this campsite you can spend the night in luxurious safari tents, but also in real nostalgic gypsy caravans! A very nice option if you are looking for a special overnight stay with children. For children there is a nice playground, pedal tractors and bicycles are available and there is even a barefoot path.

7. Camping Dike and Lake

www.campingdijkenmeer.nl

About 10km from Enkhuizen, on the IJsselmeer, you will find Camping Dijk en Meer. Here you can camp with your own camping equipment, but also book great accommodations. How about a circus wagon with outdoor kitchen, a tiny house, pipowagen, bell tent or yurt? At the campsite you will be amazed: the reception, for example, is located in an authentic Viennese streetcar.
